Spring Things

Breaking news! We won the Great Taste Award! In fact...we won 3. Major pat on the back. The Wild Bee Honey is ‘OFFICIALLY’ delicious. Scroll through the carousel on my instagram post here to find out what the judges said about my honey. The feedback was lovely so buy a jar and see for yourselves!

Regardless as to whether I won an award or not, my honey is SENSATIONAL even without the Great Taste seal of approval because my talented Bee Babes worked extremely hard to produce every single drop of magical goodness.

To find out more about what I REALLY think about The Great Taste Award, please have a read of my recent blog. I appreciate what they represent and the prestige they hold in the food industry. It took them time and dedication to build an influential platform that essentially helps small businesses like mine, scream and shout about how good their products are. However, I need food lovers and producers to hear this: winning (or not winning) this award does not define you or your product’s worth. Not even a little.

It’s completely unfiltered and it’s what a lot of people are too worried about to question. Have a read of my blog 'The Truth About the Great Taste Awards – My honest experience' and let me know your thoughts!

When Paths Align: The Journey of The Wild Bee Company

As we prepare for our upcoming workshops, our little studio is buzzing with energy—rearranging shelves, buying in equipment, capturing product shots. Scroll through to see Sam nearly topple off a ladder as he chases that ‘perfect angle.’ A reminder that in a small business, you do it all. There’s no marketing team, no branding department, no dedicated photographer—just us, wearing every hat.

I am - director, organiser, accountant, artist, maker, producer, creative manager, researcher, driver, product developer, cleaner, studio manager, photographer, content creator, web developer, guardian of the bees, illustrator, alchemist, forager, blogger, writer, gardener, customer service, candle-maker, soap-maker, teacher and student.

Hats stacked so high, yet, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My 15-year journey in the design industry has sharpened every skill I now rely on, weaving together all the threads of my experience to create something I’m genuinely proud of. But beyond the craft, beyond the aesthetics, there’s something deeper at play—a feeling of alignment, as if the universe has been gently guiding me here all along.

I’ve always felt pulled in multiple directions. This isn’t a brag but throughout my education, I excelled at nearly everything—maths, science, art, design, history, psychology. The problem was, I was an indecisive kid, forced in a societal system that demanded a choice: Follow an academic path, or pursue creativity. There was no in-between. So, I did what I was ‘supposed’ to do—I picked a lane, threw myself into design, and raced ahead. I even graduated a year early with First-class Honors. But no matter how much I achieved, a whisper of doubt remained - What if?

What if I had followed my love for biology? What if I had pursued my fascination with engineering, the way the world works, the unseen rhythms of nature? Could I have made my parents proud and become a Doctor/Lawyer/Accountant? I was unstoppable in my creative path, but deep down, I longed for something more—a bridge between my structured, analytical mind and my untamed, messy, artistic soul. And then, things started to click into place.

The first time I grounded myself with Mama Earth, foraged my first Parasol Mushroom, collected a swarm of bees, brewed my first cup of nettle tea, fermented my first batch of wild garlic kimchi - it ignited that inner child feeling of ‘play’. My chosen path and my ‘what if’ path weren’t separate roads after all. They were always meant to merge into one lane and take me on a journey I hadn’t even imagined was an option as a child. This was the missing piece. Science, art, nature, community, spirituality, philosophy, feminism, activism, creator, healer, supporter, scientist, wanderer, teacher, student —it all fused into one.

The Wild Bee Co became a space that encapsulated this. By owning a small business, we are able to control the narrative and direct the culture of the company. Here, I could learn endlessly, create freely, and share knowledge in ways that felt purposeful, grounding and authentic.

I believe things happen for a reason. We are led exactly where we need to be, Sometimes through winding roads, landslides, uphill battles, unexpected detours, but always instinctively towards something greater than we could have planned.

Every thread of my existence has found its place in this wild, beautiful, imperfect weave. This is where I share my magic, my craft, my love for the land, bees and its ancient wisdom. This is where I invite others to remember to return to their roots and inner child. To carve out space to listen to the subtle hints of your own calling, to see the unseen connections between all things. Give that voice at the back of your head a little attention.

The universe speaks in signs and synchronicities. The key is to listen and trust the process. This is my path. And if you’re here, maybe it’s yours too.
