A plate of harvested vegetables

September has brought about significant changes in our sanctuary. With the unexpected warm days sporadically showing up and prolonging Summer, our Winter veg has already started to thrive. While Sunflowers and strawberries continue to emerge, so do our brussel sprouts, kale and cabbage.

Evenings have started to visit earlier. As the leaves turn auburn, Fall is fast approaching with Winter right behind her. This year I want to embrace these two seasons. There will be inevitable miserable, gloomy days, typical of UK weather. There will also be an influx of captivating transitioning colours soon to come, filling me with warmth.

Having not been back home in London for the past three years, this is the first time I really get to understand the rhythm of my sanctuary during Autumn and Winter. Usually it is around this time that burnout or lethargy hits me as I struggle to find the stamina to persevere. This year is different. I have planted my core in a space of inspiration. I have sown my ideas in an environment that will nurture them and help them grow. I anticipate my mood changing. As I sync with the moon and understand the constant shifts within my sanctuary, I will continue to maintain the balance I have luckily been able to establish and build this year.
